Sri Sri Thakur Purnananda founded ‘ Ramakrishna Purnananda Math’ , the central organization, Radhanagar Road, Burnpur, Asansol in 1964 to spread the ideals of Ramakrishnadev and Gaurangadev throughout the world. Since then, He retrieved,founded and recovered some Maths and Ashrams and also founded other organizations later . Shri Shri Thakur Purnananda revealed himself in material body at a village named PANCHTHUPI of Dakshinpara in Murshidabad district in 1936 ( 5th Phalgun, 1342 ) . His father’s name is Late Satyananda Mukhopadhyay and Mother’s name is Late Annapurna Devi. His parental house ‘ RAMARADHABHABAN’ , now ‘GURUDHAM’, is located at KARKONA, paraj, Galsi, Burdwan. He spent his early life (from childhood to youth) here. He received his first initiation from Late TOTA PURI ( NAGA BABA) and then was initiated in ‘ SHAKTIMANTRA’ by Amarkinkar Bhattacharya KULGURU (family preceptor) . He was initiated in ‘ VAISNAVA MANTRA’ by Narahari Baba of ‘Nihshanka Mahashamshan Math’, Memari, Burdwan. he got ‘SANNYAS’ from Swami Sukhatmananda who was initiated by Sri Maa Sarada Devi. His Sannyas name is Swami Purnananda(Dalim Mukharjee in previous life[PURBASHRAM]). He established ‘ASHRAM’ in Sri Ramakrishna order in Burnpur, Tribeni, Memari, Baidyabati and Mankar.

OUR LATE PRESIDENT MAHARAJ

LATE SWAMI BICHITRANANDA,the senior-most disciple of our GURUDEV SRI SRI THAKUR PURNANANDA,was a living example of dedication,renunciation and great austerity to his fellow brothers. Sri Sri Thakur often told about him:” My Bichitra is alone hundred. He alone can perform my all works. (to other disciples: you all are just for a single flower can not make a whole garland….well, when you prostrate to Bichitra,must know my son,you prostrate to me.)” In 1964,our first organization RAMAKRISHNA-PURNANANDA MATH,Burnpur was founded by our GURUDEV being accompanied by his tireless sefless service. He is ever known among us for his humility and affection to his fellow brothers. after spending a long thirty years outside Bengal following the instruction of our GURUDEV,he founded a more organization in Ethora,Burdwan and became the first President. This great person left his mortal body on dated 15 February,2014 and left for us an ideal life as a scripture to follow ever afterwards………….

 SOCIO-SPIRITUAL PROGRAMME
Socio-spiritual programs are held all around the year as per our goals and mottoes. Months and days for the rituals vary following lunar days.The Birth Anniversary Celebration of Sri Sri Sarada Devi,Swami Vivekananda & Sri Sri Thakur Ramakrishna Dev are held normally in the month of December,January & February respectively. MAHASHIVARATRI,a very popular religious FESTIVAL among Indian folks,is celebrated by Ashramites in the month of Feb.-March. The ritual worship of Sri Sri Basanti Durga Devi is usually performed in March-April. PHALAHARINI KALIPUJA,The popular Bengalee ceremony,is generally held in the month of May. THE LORD SHIVA’S AVISHEKA(bathing of God with sacred water,milk,ghee,honey etc.) ,the great ritual,is normally performed in the first & last week of the month of July. Gurupurnima is generally celebrated in July. MAHALAYA &NAVARATRI is celebrated in the Ashram premises in Sept.-Oct. Our Ashramites actively participate in our social projects for their own spiritual upgradation as mind purification programme all the year round. Every year, on the Birthday Celebration of Swami Vivekananda,blankets are distributed among tribal & other poor people and clothes are distributed in Durga Puja Festival. MEDICAL CAMP (Gynae.,paediatric,General,Heart Check up,ECG etc.) & EYE TREATMENT CAMP are organized all over the year. We have been organizing Medical Camps for years not only in our Ashrams but in remote tribal villages,even in impassable area,to reach to wretched people, like Shushunia hill area in Bihar,Kumarpur,Kalajharia,Tilabandh in ASNL etc.Our Ashram monks have been extending their sacred hands towards downtrodden, ailing, hunger-stricken people lying in footpaths taking them to hospitals and rehabilitating them ; in many cases, they do it instantly on the spot in unknown places with individual initiatives for years.Vegetables tilled in our Ashram fields are distributed among poverty-stricken local rural people on regular basis.
 

SIT and DRAW COMPETITION
Tribal children on Swamiji's 150th Birth Anniversary at the Ashram premises as a part of our socio-cultural projects for the personality development and cultural upliftment of the undermined community children.
 SOCIO-CULTURAL PROGRAMME
To promote education among tribal children & other backward classes,we have been organizing FREE COACHING EVERY MORNING all the year round from infancy to H.S. level all led & taught by our Ashram monks with offering free refreshments. For the CULTURAL UPLIFTMENT of tribal & other backward children,we have been organizing various cultural programmes on religious occasions with dance,drama,seat & draw,recitation,song etc. for them.For their PERSONALITY DEVELOPMENT,we have also been organizing impromptu competition,quiz competition,debate competition etc.Trainers have also been chosen for them to practise regularly on stated items like songs etc.
